Maix Bit not recognized by Windows or Mac OSX

This is a bit of a weird issue.

I ordered two Maix boards: Maixduino and Maix Bit. Both boards have the CH552 chip for USB-Serial communications with the host. The Maixduino identifies itself to Windows and Mac as a FDDI USB serial port and works just fine with the drivers that come with the OS (Windows 10 build 1903 and Mac OSX Catalina 10.15.1). The Maix Bit is not recognized. It identifies itself to the system by the maker of the CH552 chip whereas the Maxduino identifies as a Speed Debug (and FDDI).

As such, I’m unable to communicate with the Maix Bit. It does boot and displays Welcome to Maxpy info on the screen. Is there a different driver required, the board defective, or am I missing something? It almost seems like the CH552 wasn’t loaded with the correct code for FDDI simulation.

Hi there

I have the same problem. Do you solve it?

Unfortunately not. I’ve just assumed the device is defective.

can you check is the DP is being pull high?
seems the FW is lost, you can reburn the ch552 firmware
