Fc100s booting kernel without Buildroot possible ?

Is it possible to just run Linux kernel without Buildroot ?

I am curious about the Lichee Pi nano running without Buildroot, since I’m working on SPI-NAND support and it’s very hard to flash the nand when the image file is larger than 2M.

P.S.Mine Buildroot is about 40 MBytes-ish and I still figuring out how to flash to the NAND .

Well, I managed to flash the rootfs via splitting rootfs into 8MiB sections and flash manually. And the answer is yes and no

Yes, I can finally boot the kernel but
No, I won’t without buildroot.
